Sharon Johnston is a founding partner of Los Angeles-based firm Johnston Marklee.

The firm's recent projects include a green-metal tower in Phoenix, a lakeside guesthouse in Upstate New York and the conversion of a historic Los Angeles car showroom into an art gallery.

Beyond practicing architecture, Johnston has taught at various renowned universities and together with partner, Mark Lee, she was Artistic Director of the 2017 Chicago Architecture Biennial.

The architect has accrued numerous accolades, including the Richard Neutra Medal for Professional Excellence in 2024 and the American Academy of Arts & Letters Award in Architecture in 2022.
