Stories about American furniture company Emeco, including interviews with CEO Gregg Buchbinder and the brands’ designers, plus news about product designs.

The company is best known for creating the 1006 Navy Chair (pictured left), made from salvaged aluminium for US Navy submarines and still in production today.

Emeco was founded in 1944 as the Electric Machine and Equipment Company (Emeco). Gregg Buchbinder acquired the company in 1998 and today Emeco works with a range of contemporary designers including Philippe Starck, Nendo and Barber & Osgerby.

Buchbinder told the story of how he rebuilt the company in an animated movie illustrated by Jean and Nicolas Jullien.
