Carlo Ratti

Italian architect and engineer Carlo Ratti directs the Senseable City Lab at MIT and is founding partner of Carlo Ratti Associati.

Ratti’s design and innovation practice embraces cutting-edge digital technologies, with notable projects such as the Meet digital culture centre in Milan and the Italy Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.

He currently also serves as the curator of the Venice Architecture Biennale 2025. His previous curatorial work includes the BMW Guggenheim Pavilion in Berlin and the Future Food District Pavilion for Expo 2015 in Milan.

Ratti teaches at MIT and the Politecnico di Milano and has authored over 750 publications, including Atlas of the Senseable City (2023).
