Fernando Laposse
Mexican designer Fernando Laposse is founder of eponymous practice Fernando Laposse and winner of the Bentley Lighthouse Award for Dezeen Awards 2024.
Laposse specialises in plant-based materials, often working with local indigenous communities to address topics such as the environmental crisis, the loss of biodiversity and migration through his design.
Notable projects include a marquetry material made from the colourful husks of heirloom corn species presented at the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne and collaborating with Dezeen as part of the Design You Can Feel exhibition during London Design Festival in 2024.
