Matt Scullin
Designer and entrepreneur Matt Scullin is CEO of biomaterial brand MycoWorks.
Known for being a global leader in fine mycelium materials, MycoWorks creates sustainable materials for the luxury and fashion brands. Notable projects include collaborating with French luxury house Hermès to reimagine its Victoria shopper bag in a leather alternative grown from mycelium.
In 2008, Scullin founded thermoelectrics company Alphabet Energy, where he created the world’s first commercial thermoelectric waste-heat recovery generators.
Scullin was named Forbes 30 Under 30 in 2012 and a technology pioneer by the World Economic Forum in 2013 for his commercialisation of new materials.
Recognised as a leader in his field, he holds a PhD from the University of California Berkeley in materials science.
