Omar Degan
Architect and curator Omar Degan is founder of international practice DO Architecture Group, based in Mogadishu, Somalia.
Since its inception in 2017, the firm has worked in fragile and complex contexts, including post-conflict reconstruction, climate-responsive design and community-led urban strategies.
Degan also founded the Pan-African Biennale, the first continental platform dedicated to architecture, the built environment and spatial futures led from Africa. As head curator of the Pan-African Biennale, Degan seeks to position architecture as a strategic cultural and civic instrument.
