Richard Hutten
Dutch designer Richard Hutten is founder of Droog Design.
Rotterdam-based Hutten is known for pushing the boundaries of design and championing sustainability as an expert in circular economy.
The designer recently contributed to Rianne Koens's Rethink Softly project, a dedicated series of chairs that does not rely on polyurethane foam and collaborated with Dutch furniture brand Lensvelt to create 27,000 ergonomically curved seats for Amsterdam's Schiphol airport using recycled aluminium from the airport's previous, unserviceable seats.
Hutten's work is exhibited in over 50 institutions including the V&A, Museum of Modern Art, Vitra Design Museum, The Design Museum, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Design Museum Gent and Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam.
