Dezeen has announced the architecture shortlist for this year's Dezeen Awards, which includes buildings by Dorte Mandrup, Farshid Moussavi Architects and Herzog & de Meuron.

The 152 shortlisted projects, which are in the running for awards in 19 different architecture project categories, are by studios located across 36 different countries, including China, Finland, Kuwait, Portugal, Thailand and Uruguay.

Shortlisted projects include a country house with walls formed of unstabilised rammed earth in the UK, a trio of squat guesthouses characterised by glass walls and thatched roofs in Ukraine and a mosque with a perforated, blanket-like roof of stone-clad steelwork in Qatar.

The shortlist also features an office that reimagines machiya housing with "breathing" metal awnings in Japan and a sprawling brick-clad university building modelled on stepped wells in India.

Dezeen Awards 2026 shortlists revealed this week

Dezeen Awards 2026, in partnership with Trimble, will reveal all shortlisted projects this week. The interiors shortlist will be published tomorrow, followed by the design shortlist on Wednesday.

The shortlisted projects were scored by our architecture jury, which includes architects Annabelle Selldorf, Daniel Libeskind, Ma Yansong, Amanda Levete and Norman Foster.

All shortlisted architecture projects are listed below, each with a link to a dedicated page on the Dezeen Awards website, where you can find an image and more information about the project.

The winner of each project category will be announced live at the Dezeen Awards 2026 party on 16 November at the Royal Opera House in London. All 19 winners will then compete for the prestigious title of architecture project of the year.
